Brookvale started life as the Manchester & District School for disabled Children in 1951, in a large house in Cheetham Hill – Manchester.
At the time there was very little provision or care for children with severe disabilities. As demand grew the small committee that had founded the school registered it as a charity and bought a small farm with 12 acres of land called Brookvale with donations. With perseverance and hard work they developed a residential school and care home for 32 children.
Now Brookvale is a care home for adults with learning and physical disabilities, and Autism.
At Brookvale we are able to meet the needs of a wide verity of people, from our ‘community houses’ through to our adapted en-suite rooms meeting the needs of people with physical disabilities.
People who chose to use Brookvale will be able to make full use of our extensive facilities from our Hydrotherapy pool to our extensive grounds and gardens.
